CUFIC

Cufic began her maiden voyage (Liverpool - New York) on 8th December, 1888. She arrived in New York on 21st December. From 1896 to 1898 she was chartered to Cia. Transatlantica Español as Nuestra Señora de Guadeloupe. Afterwards she was returned to White Star and renamed Cufic. She was sold to the Dominion Line in 1901 and renamed Manxman. The ship was later owned by three other companies (still as Manxman).

On 18th December 1919, as the Manxman, sailing with the U.S. & Canadian Transport & Trading Co., the former Cufic I foundered in the North Atlantic while en route from Portland to Gibraltar with a cargo of wheat. All 40 crew were lost.
