Now most famous for the sinking of RMS Titanic on her maiden voyage in April, 1912, White Star sent passenger ships to sea from 1849 to 1935 (when the company merged with Cunard to become Cunard White Star). After the loss of Titanic & Britannic, the company's RMS Olympic was the largest existing British-built vessel until the arrival of RMS Queen Mary.
